Looking back at 2020

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

What a year! Back in March we met in Gorey Library to reinvigorate the Wexford Environmental Network, at an event hosted by Catherine from Irish Environmental Network. Little did we know that was the first and last time we would meet in person in 2020.

By June we were in full Zoom mode and did our first submission on the Marine Planning Strategy, very much led by the great work of Jeshua Taucher in Seal Rescue Ireland.

It was just the start of a busy summer: in July we held our first public event with some of Wexford's councillors, in August we did a submission on the River Basin Management Plan and in September Natasha led us in a submission on the Forestry Appeals consultation.

From October to December we held our first social media campaign - a 60 day countdown to Christmas highlighting different environmental issues, sharing tips - whatever our intrepid posters could dream up!

December saw the network pull together a comprehensive submission on the Wexford County Development Plan.

Then we put our feet up for Christmas, and ate some nut roast, while dreaming up our wishes for 2021!
